How to Arrive
The most common way to reach the hotel is by the N21, a major national road between Limoges and Perigueux, passing directly in front of the hotel through Thiviers. If you are coming from Limoges (and the A20 motorway), it is about 45-50 minutes’ drive south. If you are coming from Bordeaux, it is about two hours’ drive east to Perigueux and then north to Thiviers. The entrance to the hotel parking courtyard under an archway is set back slightly from the main road but visible; however, this archway can be quite tight so approach slowly.
For those traveling by train, Thiviers has its own railway station. This is quite a good bonus for such a rural town. The station lies on the mainline between Limoges and Bordeaux. Several TER (regional express) trains run daily in both directions. The hotel is about a ten-to-fifteen-minute walk from the railway station, though most of that will be uphill toward the town center. If you are laden with heavy bags, better arrange for a taxi to meet your train since no taxis wait at the station for fares.
The nearest airports are Limoges-Bellegarde(LIG) and Bergerac Dordogne Perigord(EGC). Limoges is the closest, about a 50-minute drive, and serves many low-cost carriers from the UK and elsewhere in Europe. From Bergerac, it’s about an hour and fifteen minutes. Highly recommended to rent a car at the airport because while you can get to Thiviers by train, venturing into the surrounding villages and countryside without a vehicle is next to impossible.
